Monster Bug

A few nights ago, Mark and I took Shelby outside to the bathroom before we went to bed. As we were coming inside, I noticed this HUGE bug on the wall right by the door. I screamed like the wimpy girl that I am, and ran back into the yard, almost knocking Mark over in my rush to get away from the monster.

It turns out that it was a Praying Mantis. I’d never seen one before, if you can believe it. I truly thought they were little inch long bugs that lived in South American rainforests. I didn’t know that they were GINORMOUS MONSTERS who lived in MY BACKYARD!!!

So anyways, it took me quite a few minutes to work up the courage to walk past it and get back into the house. Mark was laughing the whole time.
