Remember the Monster Bug? This is worse.

There was a BAT on the wall this time! You should have seen us – outside with Shelby at 11:30 PM and throwing sticks and rocks at our house, trying to get the darn thing to fly away.

No such luck – it wasn’t moving an inch.

After about 10 minutes of that nonsense, I worked up the courage to dash to the door and squeeze inside – Mark and Shelby stood watch to tell me if the bat was going to fly into my hair, or worse, into the house. I made it inside safely, and then unlocked our patio door and let Mark and Shelby in that way.

The best part? Mark went back outside to get a picture for me! He knew I’d have to document it on my blog. Thanks Honey!

Gross . . . although slightly endearing . . . maybe it’s not that bad. . . nevermind . . . it’s gross.

When I took Shelby out this morning, I went out the patio door, just in case the bat was still hanging around.

Have mercy, it was still there! I’m beginning to wonder if it’s sick. Or dead. Poor little guy.

I guess we’ll wait and see.
