Welcome to birdro.com!
My husband Mark and I live in the southeast U.S. with our beautiful two year-old, Amelia. We also share our lives with a lab(ish) goofball of a dog named Shelby.
Mom, Dad, and Erik came up for a visit this past weekend. We had not seen them since March – it was wonderful to catch up with them. Since Erik’s going to be studying abroad in Norway for the next school year, Mark and I will not see him until next July!
On Saturday, we drove to Blowing Rock, North Carolina.
It was a rainy/foggy day driving through the mountains.
We tried to see the Blowing Rock after which the town was named, but it was too foggy to see anything.
We did, however, see this bumper sticker.
After we drove home, we just relaxed with some coffee and ended up having a tasty BBQ chicken pizza for dinner.
On Sunday, we took a trip up to Bay’s Mountain.
Mom took this really neat algae picture.
We saw this guy just wandering around the park.
Dad climbed all the way to the top of this TALL observation tower!
We had a very enjoyable weekend with my family – it makes me wish the drive down to Florida was not such a long one! Mark and I will be able to drive down to see them for Thanksgiving, and it will be so nice to see Mom and Dad and Daniel (my other brother who “had to work” and could not come up with the rest of the family). Until then, I guess phone calls and e-mails will have to suffice!
