Welcome to birdro.com!
My husband Mark and I live in the southeast U.S. with our lovely daughters, Amelia and Florence. We also share our lives with a lab(ish) goofball of a dog named Shelby.
On Friday, Amelia and I ran some errands and picked up this nifty sippy cup. We already have a cup that has this particular type of spout, but it seems to be too tall for Amelia to use, and it doesn’t have handles. She liked the spout, though, so I decided to give this smaller one a try. Good thing I did – she likes it!
I think the end of this video is funny – Amelia finds her feet, her skirt, and her sippy cup and doesn’t know which one to pay attention to!
My little booger has also discovered the fun of gnawing on her thumb and blowing raspberries while eating. Let me tell you, it makes quite a mess!
Saturday was Independence Day, and it was also Shelby’s birthday! We’ll never know for sure when Shelby was born, but when we brought her home from the shelter in November of 2006, they told us she was about 4 months old. We counted backwards, and decided that we would celebrate her birthday on the 4th of July.
I made Shelby a very special birthday breakfast of scrambled eggs and dog cookies!
She was very excited.
It was gone in no time!
Amelia got all dressed up for Independence Day. Believe it or not, that skirt is a Newborn size! I’ve had it for months, and she is just now getting enough of a belly to hold it up. A pair of blue and white striped Baby Legs completed her patriotic outfit. Adorable! After she took a great morning nap, we headed up to spend some time with Grandma and Grandpa B. Amelia was such a happy girl all day long. We were glad that Grandma and Grandpa B got to see her at her best, because many times they see her at the end of the day, when she is tired and cranky.
In this picture we took at lunch, you can clearly tell that all of that solid food is making her belly bigger!
When we got home I took a wonderful bath while Mark fed Amelia her supper – she ate avocado, sweet potatoes AND pears! It’s the most she’s ever eaten at one sitting. She didn’t eat any solids for lunch (since we were out and about) so I guess that’s why she had a big supper.
Sunday was a rainy day. To combat the gloomy weather, Amelia tried on her swimsuit for our upcoming trip to Florida!
She also hopped into a box of diapers, hoping to ship herself to Grandpa B’s office!
Last but not least, Amelia figured out how to nibble on her toes. Aren’t babies amazingly flexible?

I love how flexible babies are, you go Amelia!
That swim suit is adorable!
I’ll have to watch the video later, we installed Windows 7 and forgot about my sound.
