Welcome to birdro.com!
My husband Mark and I live in the southeast U.S. with our beautiful two year-old, Amelia. We also share our lives with a lab(ish) goofball of a dog named Shelby.
Mark took today off work and we headed out on a day trip! We stopped at the Apple store in Knoxville to pick up OS X Snow Leopard.
Amelia and I sat in the car while Mark ran in to grab the disk. I let Amelia play in the driver’s seat while he was gone. Although it looks as if she’s pouting in this picture, she really was glad to see him when he got back – she just wasn’t too thrilled about getting back in her car seat.
We had planned on visiting the Knoxville Zoo, but the weather was fairly rainy. Mark had a contingency plan up his sleeve for just such an occasion, and so we headed to Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies!
Amelia was very excited, and waved at the camera.
This tank had a school of fish streaming by – she was enthralled with all of the fish!
They had this systems control center . . .
and all of these water filtration tanks visible (and this was only a small portion of what was there). It was amazing to see all that it takes to keep the aquarium running!
It’s a little dark, but I think this is a beautiful picture. Mark perfectly captured the wonderous look on Amelia’s face.
Daddy was making up all kinds of stories about the fish!
Looking at the sharks.
An absolutely beautiful jellyfish display.
This display had bright yellow and blue fish, although you can’t see that from the picture – Amelia loved them, though!
Mama with a very tired (but still happy) baby. We had a lovely trip, and Amelia was very good in the car. She slept most of the time and hardly cried at all.
When we got home, Amelia played on the bed for a while. I think she was happy to be out of her car seat! Check back on Sunday afternoon for the rest of our weekend wrap up!

I love aquariums and it looks like you all had a fabulous time. You take Amelia to the best places.
I’m so glad Amelia likes her O-ball, that video is too cute.
