Weekend Wrap Up

September 20th, 2009

On Saturday we went with Grandma and Grandpa B to Steele Creek Park.

We dipped our toes in the creek.

Amelia tried the swing at the park – her first time ever on a swing and she loved it!

Before leaving the park, we took a little train ride along the river.

When we got back to Grandma and Grandpa B’s house, they had a surprise for Amelia. What a fun toy – Amelia loves the lights and sounds! Thanks Grandma and Grandpa B!

On Sunday our plans for visiting a new church were thwarted by Amelia’s sleep schedule. When she doesn’t sleep well at night she makes up for it by taking two long-ish morning (and into the afternoon) naps. While I’m very glad she gets to catch up on her sleep, it’s not the best timing for church. It’s important follow the cardinal rule of parenting – never wake a sleeping baby!

Amelia and I played in her room while Mark did some work in the garage. Over the past few years it has turned into a catch-all and is really out of hand. It’s not done yet, but Mark made a lot of progress! Actually, if we had a large dumpster in which to throw away all of the trash we’d basically be done. Right now we have all of the throw away/give away items on one side of the garage and will toss them whenever we can. Once it’s all done I’ll be sure to post before and after pictures! Right now Mark is resting on the couch with Amelia, and I’ve got a delicious-smelling pork roast in the slow cooker.

I’m glad and jealous that Amelia loved the swing. Lily was indifferent to it.

Dipping you toes sounds so nice and an adorable picture.

I wasn’t sure if Amelia would like the swing at all – since she did I’m going to have to find one closer to our house!
