Weekend Wrap Up

Since we knew there was some rain headed our way for the weekend, Amelia and I spent some time out in the yard on Friday afternoon.

If you look in her right hand you’ll see that Amelia is holding a day-of-the-week pill box. She recently realized how fun it is to shake the pill box in which I keep my vitamins. I wanted her to be able to play with one that didn’t have anything dangerous in it, so I found this purple pill box in the top of the medicine cabinet and filled it with some of her puffs. It’s definitely a new favorite toy!

Saturday morning before all of the rain started, we picked up some pumpkin spice donuts from Daylight Donuts. Grandma and Grandpa B came over after lunch to watch some football, and they also brought along a surprise for Amelia. . .

Bubbles!!! What a great rainy day treat!

At first Amelia was very confused, but once she figured it out she had a lot of fun!

We have been showing Amelia how to clap for a few months now, but she had never done it herself. Saturday morning she suddenly started clapping when Mark played her favorite song. We caught Amelia clapping on video Saturday afternoon.

On Sunday morning Mark got up early with Amelia and let me sleep in – it was wonderful! During Amelia’s morning nap Mark and I listened to a sermon via podcast from Grace Fellowship Church. While we think that the church is probably too big to be exactly what we are looking for, we really enjoyed the sermon and will probably visit the church within the next few weeks. Later in the day we went on a walk and blew some more bubbles! It was pretty windy and the bubbles quickly blew away, but Amelia really enjoyed them while they lasted – I think it sounds like she’s screaming “BUBBLES”!

Sunday afternoon we let Amelia play with some finger paints! I think the pictures speak for themselves.

Finger painting was a success! She looks very proud of her artwork.
