Weekend Wrap Up

June 27th, 2010

On Friday morning I took Amelia to the pediatrician for her 18 month checkup. She now weighs 20 pounds and she is a startling 32 inches long! The nurse had to measure her three times to be sure she got the measurement right – she grew over 2 inches and gained over 2 pounds in just three months! Mark thinks that her growth spurt explains the few weeks that we had trouble getting her to stay asleep at night – the poor girl was probably having growing pains.

On Friday afternoon we signed the lease on our new apartment! We’ll start moving things in on Thursday, July 1st. Actually, Mark will be starting his new job on the 1st and I will be at the apartment supervising while our new furniture and washer & dryer are delivered. Grandpa B will be helping us out BIG TIME by staying here with Amelia for a few hours while I am at the new apartment. Grandma and Grandpa came over early on Saturday morning and played with Amelia while Mark and I worked on cleaning out the garage. We threw away a lot of junk and gathered quite a few things to sell in a yard sale. Amelia didn’t know what to think when she came out and saw her old bouncy seat! She lounged and bounced in it for a while, and didn’t want to get out of it! It’s amazing to see how much she has grown – the first two pictures are of Amelia on Saturday and the third picture is of her at three months old. Quite a difference, I’d say!

After Amelia’s nap we drove up to Grandma and Grandpa’s house so Daddy could help cut up a large tree branch that had fallen during a recent storm. Amelia and I stayed inside with Grandma and looked through some old magazines, searching for inspiration for our new place. Fun!

Sunday was spent packing, although we did take a break to watch the Argentina/Mexico World Cup game. We got quite a bit done, but we still have a lot more to do!
