Dear Florence,

Today you are two months old! You are such a sweet baby and we just can’t get enough of you! Amelia is such a proud big sister and loves to help in any way she can. Most times when we get ready to leave the house she makes sure she has a rattle or small toy for you on the off chance that you get upset. I am so thankful that you are such an easy baby so far – you are so easy to tote around with us, which is wonderful since we have a very busy schedule! We have graduated from the Sleepy Wrap to the Ergo carrier – I think you are much happier being able to see more of the world in the Ergo!

You have the coolest hair, and while it still sticks straight up it looks like it has a bit of curl/wave to it! When we get you out of the shower or bath (or when I get you out of the Ergo and your head is sweaty) your hair is super curly. Your cheeks are still as chubby as ever, and your beautiful eyes are still a dark blue – I’m beginning to wonder if your Nordic genes are going to win and let you keep those baby blues! Daddy weighed you on our bathroom scale a few weeks ago and I am almost certain that you will be 11 pounds (or more!) when we go to the doctor next week for your two month visit. You have stretched out of 0-3 month onesies and sleepers and are wearing mostly 3-6 month clothes, although you are still able to wear a few 0-3 month dresses/shirts – you’re growing like a weed, that’s for sure!

So far you have been sleeping very well, and for that I am incredibly thankful! Most of the time you give us a 6-7 hour stretch after we put you to bed around 7 or 8,  and then you wake up every three hours until morning. You still nurse every 2.5 to 3.5 hours during the day, and you nap in the car seat or the Ergo during our morning errands/appointments, on my chest after lunch while Amelia is sleeping and then you cat-nap in the bouncy seat or the swing (or the Ergo) in the afternoons.

You rolled from tummy to back on June 12th – it was just once so I wasn’t sure if it was a fluke or not. Two days later though, you rolled over again (and again)! It looks like you are an early bloomer (at least when it comes to rolling over) just like your sister was – she started rolling from tummy to back around 8.5 weeks! You have also started chewing on your fists quite a bit. I hope you aren’t teething already!

The biggest change this month is that you have started to smile and coo! Oh Florence, my heart melts into a big puddle of mush when I see your gummy grin! Most of the time you are a very serious baby, just taking in the world through your beautiful blue eyes. Every once in a while though, when our attention is focused elsewhere you voice your displeasure with a loud squeak! When we come back into your view, you flash that grin and your eyes light up!

Sweet girl, you make us smile more and more every day and for that I am forever thankful. You are loved to the moon and back.

Love, Mommy
