Today you are 18 months old! How quickly the past year and a half have gone! Amelia has been waiting for the day when she can say you are “one and a half” for ages now, and she is so excited! That “and a half” really means a lot to her, and I’m sure it’ll mean just as much to you when you’re a bit older. As the days go by you are seeming less and less like my baby – you’re turning into such a big girl! I can’t believe some of the things you do these days; you seem so much older than your 18 months!
You have such a temper, and I’m already wondering how I’m going to handle your temper and attitude once the new baby arrives. You can go from cold to hot in an instant, and then from hot back to cold with just a bit of distraction. I know you’re not going to be so easily distracted for long, though! Along with that temper, you can ham it up like no one else! When you do something that makes someone laugh you grin and scrunch up your nose and do your absolute best to make them laugh again and again and again (and again).
One recent development has been that you are now sitting still for books! You love reading and will bring books over and say “book! book!” until I pick you up and start reading. These aren’t just board books either – any time I’m reading longer books with Amelia you want to hop right up and read along. I’m quite surprised at your attention span!
I’m sure I’ve written about this before, but you absolutely LOVE animals. You get so excited whenever you see one! You shout “MAMA! MAMA!!” and point and try to rush over to observe. We took you and Amelia to feed the ducks a few weeks ago and you almost tripped over your feet when you started rushing towards them the minute we stepped out of the van. You make us laugh so much, Sweet Flo, and we are so thankful to have your joyous spirit in our lives!
